Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon, 3rd November 2024

Every year, Missing Children Europe brings together a group of runners who run to raise awareness and funds for Missing Children Europe’s projects to prevent, protect and support missing children.
This year, the revamped course starts from De Brouckère and takes you past iconic locations such as the Basilica of Koekelberg, the Atomium and the Cinquantenaire Park. More than 12,000 participants are expected at the start.
In addition to the marathon and half marathon, a 7 km run is also scheduled, while the youngest runners can participate in the 1 km Persil Kids Run.
The Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon has been receiving growing international acclaim annually, with the 2023 edition attracting participants from no fewer than 105 countries.

What will the money raised be used for?
The funds raised from the Brussels Airport Marathon and Half Marathon will go toward supporting two of our projects. We offer each of our supporters the possibility to choose which cause they want to champion:
CESAGRAM
The Comprehensive European Strategy Against Grooming and Missing Children (CESAGRAM) project aims to prevent grooming for sexual abuse and prevent children from going missing, especially considering the role of technology. It also aims to detect and provide proper support to children who have been victims of grooming. CESAGRAM focuses on these objectives through research, training, awareness-raising, the development of an AI tool, and advocacy.
LGBTIQ+ MISSING
The LGBTIQ+ MISSING project aims to advance knowledge on the experiences of LGBTIQ+ young people who go missing and the role of intersectional discrimination and inequality before, during, and after going missing. It aims to collect data on the experiences leading to LGBTIQ+ youth going missing, so that it can reduce the risks of missing in the future.
