Every year Missing Children Europe brings together a group of runners to raise awareness and funds for Missing Children Europe’s projects to prevent, protect and support missing children. Since 2012, over 2 600 runners have participated in the “Running for Missing Children Europe” team.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the Brussels Marathon & Half Marathon 2021, which was scheduled to take place on 3 October 2021 has been cancelled. The next edition will take place on Sunday 2 October 2022.

Brussels Virtual Marathon 2020

Step 1
You’ll need to compete a registration form and send it back to andrea.tedde@missingchildreneurope.eu
Become part of the team and purchase a “Running for Missing Children Europe” T-shirt and tag us on social media. We’re always thrilled to engage with our supporters online and will cheer you on while you run.

*T-Shirt’s cost 30 euros (15 euros donation and delivery, available in Belgium only). Choose your gender (F/M) and size (XS to XXL) by completing the registration form.

Step 2
All registered participants will receive a confirmation email with the download link to the app, including a personal access code at least one week before the event.

The new revolutionary app (used in Belgium for the first time) offers a lifelike event experience. You’ll be able to listen to audio descriptions of the highlights that you would normally see at that point in your run and compete with your fellow runners. Once you’ve completed your run, don’t forget to share your results, photos and virtual medal on your social media channels via the app.

Step 3
Start a Facebook Fundraiser and check out our tips on how to engage your community.
* The person who raises the most on Facebook will also receive a prize from Missing Children Europe!

The Miniila app

Miniila provides children in migration with access to child friendly, up to date and accessible information on their rights via their smartphone, providing support wherever they are in Europe.

It is specifically tailored to the needs of children in migration, with a focus on facilitating access to dedicated services such as shelter, food, and health services in the area they are in. Missing Children Europe has involved children throughout the development process to make sure that the app is attractive, trustworthy and responds to children’s needs.

Help us reach our goal

This year we aim to raise 10 000 euros, which will support maintenance and the development of the Miniila app. Each donation of 200 EUR will allow us to maintain the Miniila app for a month.
