Position: Video Editor / Video Production Consultant
Duration: Approximately 4–5 working days
Maximum budget: EUR 1,500 including Belgian VAT
Working languages: Ukrainian and English
Location: Remote / online, with potential coordination with the project team

Background

Missing Children Europe (MCE) is implementing the EU-funded YoU Decide project, which focuses on supporting displaced Ukrainian young people (aged 15–24) as they transition into adulthood in Europe.

As part of the project, we are developing an awareness-raising campaign to showcase experiences and realities of displaced Ukrainian youth and introduce young people to Miniila, a platform providing accessible information about services, support and opportunities available to displaced Ukrainian youth.

The campaign will focus particularly on realities of young people living in Poland, Czechia and Hungary and aims to communicate in a simple, relatable and youth-friendly way how Miniila can help young people navigate life in a new country.

The campaign will include a short and a longer video for use on social media and other digital channels.

Purpose of the Consultancy

We are looking for a Ukrainian- and English-speaking video editor to support the production of the campaign videos.

The videos will be based on footage and creative concepts developed by the project team and Youth Advisory Board. The editor will be responsible for turning this material into engaging, polished and accessible campaign videos suitable for platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.

The campaign is expected to communicate in Ukrainian, with English subtitles, or potentially in both Ukrainian and English versions depending on the final campaign approach.

Scope of Work

The selected consultant will:

  • Edit three sort (30 secs –60 secs) and one longer (90-120 seconds) campaign videos based on footage and a storyboard/script provided by the project team.
  • Create engaging, dynamic and youth-friendly edits suitable for social media.
  • Work with footage filmed in different locations/countries and create a coherent visual style across the videos.
  • Incorporate footage of young people, city environments, everyday situations and Miniila platform/website interactions.
  • Add Ukrainian and English subtitles, depending on the agreed final format.
  • Add the voiceovers to the relevant parts of the video.
  • Add appropriate on-screen text, titles, transitions and other visual elements.
  • Ensure that the Miniila platform and campaign messaging are clearly presented.
  • Incorporate feedback from the project team and make reasonable revisions.
  • Prepare final files in formats suitable for social media and digital dissemination.
  • Ensure that the final videos are accessible, clear and easy to understand for the target audience.

The consultant may also be asked to provide minor creative input on pacing, structure, transitions and visual storytelling where this would strengthen the final videos.

Expected Deliverables

The consultant will be expected to deliver:

  1. Three final edited campaign videos, approximately 30–60 seconds for the shorter videos and 1,5–2 minutes for the longer one, depending on the final creative concept.
  2. Versions with Ukrainian and English subtitles as agreed with the project team.
  3. Social-media-ready versions in appropriate formats (including vertical format where required).
  4. Final video files in high-quality format suitable for future use by the project.
  5. Up to two rounds of reasonable revisions based on feedback from the project team.

The exact number, length and language versions of the videos will be agreed with the selected consultant at the beginning of the assignment.
