It is with great pleasure that we can announce we have become a member of WePROTECT Global Alliance, the leading voice protecting children from online sexual exploitation and abuse on the global level. During the last months, protecting children from online child sexual abuse has been a very important area of our work, especially since the entering into force of EU law at the end of 2020 led to 51 % decrease in reports of child sexual abuse emanating from the EU and put thousands of children at risk of abuse, exploitation, revictimisation, and even going missing.
Joining forces as a member of the wePROTECT Global Alliance, we aim to work cooperatively on advocacy and projects to move issues forward by setting up international developments in the area of child protection and child sexual abuse. Our focus is to exchange knowledge and expertise in order to bring the best practices with other organisations and develop a collaborative approach on advocacy and raising awareness of this ongoing issue. In raising our efforts and expertise, we aim to contribute to reduce and prevent the scale of child victims that is ever-growing.
