YoU Decide Guidance and Good Practice Toolkit

This toolkit brings together two practical resources developed through the EU-funded YoU Decide project:

  • Ethical and Participatory Research Toolkit
  • Local Youth Integration Hub Guide

The resources draw on the project’s research and practical work with young people displaced from Ukraine in Czechia, Hungary and Poland. They are designed for researchers, youth workers, civil-society organisations, service providers and public authorities seeking to conduct ethical, trauma-informed and participatory research or organise youth-centred integration activities.

The materials reflect the specific context of YoU Decide and may include references to project partners, locations and implementation dates. They may be used and adapted for other groups and contexts. Users should review all templates and guidance against applicable safeguarding, data-protection, consent and legal requirements before use.

Toolkit 1: Ethical and Participatory Research

This toolkit provides practical guidance and adaptable tools for conducting trauma-informed and participatory research with displaced young people. It covers ethics training, service mapping, focus group discussions, anonymous surveys and youth-led research.

The materials were developed and used within the YoU Decide project. They retain some project-specific references but may be adapted to other projects, countries and groups of young people.
