Missing Children Europe is looking to recruit a full-time Communications Assistant for a 6-month internship (“convention d’immersion professionnelle” training contract). We are seeking an outgoing and creative assistant with an interest in social media, eager to gain experience in communications activities within a European NGO.

About us: Missing Children Europe represents 33 NGOs in 27 European countries active in combatting the disappearance and sexual exploitation of children. We provide the link between research, policies, and organisations on the ground, to protect children from any kind of violence, abuse or neglect that is caused by, or results from them going missing.

 

Tasks:

Coordinating External Organisational Communication:

  • Ensure all external communications align with the organisation’s strategy and objectives.
  • Coordinate content production for the annual Figure & Trends report and Annual Impact report.
  • Create and disseminate social media content.
  • Keep the website (missingchildreneurope.eu) current.
  • Write press releases, newsletters, success stories, etc.
  • Monitor media and report on communication campaigns, social media reach, Google Analytics, Bitly, social media analytics etc.
  • Support projects, campaigns, and events with marketing and communication efforts (e.g. International Missing Children’s Day).
  • Organise and implement EU communication campaigns in coordination with our members.
  • Facilitate communication with members through newsletters, campaigns, webinars, and the internal member portal.

Collaborating with Fundraising Officer:

  • Coordinate social media campaigns for fundraising purposes.
  • Support fundraising events with marketing and communication efforts.
  • Update donors, sponsors, and partners list on CRM database
  • Draft thank you letters to donors, sponsors, and partners

 

Required Profile, Skills, and Background:

Essential:

  • Recent graduate with a degree in communication, journalism, marketing, press relations, or a relevant field.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English (preferably as a first language).
  • Interest in human/children’s rights and child protection issues.
  • Experience in managing social media profiles and content (desirable).
  • Good knowledge of design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
  • Knowledge of website management and content management (WordPress) (desirable).
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, and handle stress.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Applicant must possess EU work permit
