Preventing all forms of violence leading to or resulting from children going missing
Financial Support for Third Parties
This is a call for proposal for EU member organisations of Missing Children Europe’s network. The call is co-financed by the European Commission.
An estimated one billion children in the world experience violence every year1 , and according to a study published by the EC in 2013, 250.000 children are reported missing yearly in the EU. The different causes and effects which intrinsically link violence to going missing for children are vast; they include grooming, trafficking, sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, domestic violence, and forced labor. The COVID-19 crisis and the outbreak of the war in Ukraine have significantly exacerbated the problem and increased the burden on the 116000 hotlines to respond and protect children in Europe, while in many cases reducing their financial sustainability. Missing Children Europe recognizes that our member organisations, the 116000 hotlines, and the ultimate beneficiaries they serve (children, young people, and families) are at the heart of our network.
This call for proposals focuses on the prevention of all forms of violence or abuse which may lead to or result from children going missing.
Closing date for the call: 4th May 2023
Online Info-Session: 4th April 2023, 11:00–12:00 (CET)
