Child Focus

Child Focus is a Belgian NGO dealing with missing children, international child abduction and sexual exploitation of children.

It is a member of the Missing Children Europe umbrella organization. Child Focus acts on an independent basis and only in the interest of children. Both at a national and international level its mission implies, on the one hand to provide active support in the investigation of missing, abducted or sexually abused children and on the other hand to prevent and combat this phenomenon.

Child Focus supports and encourages research and legal measures, ensures follow-up to the cases that are entrusted to it and participates in the counseling of victims.

Katholieke Universiteit Leuven

Launched in January 2007, the Leuven Institute of Criminology is composed of about 70 professors and assistants involved in criminological research and education within the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of the KU Leuven Faculty of Law.

LINC is the most recent institutional incarnation of the criminological tradition in Leuven that started with the establishment of the “School for Criminology” in 1929. LINC continues the Leuven tradition of combining solid research with a deep commitment to society.

This goal is achieved through fundamental as well as policy-oriented research that is organized around 10 research lines, among which a prominent place has the research line on restorative justice, coordinated by Dr. Prof. Ivo Aertsen. Research on restorative justice in Leuven is recognized and valued worldwide both in the field of practice and academia.
