Vacancy for a (Junior) Fundraising & Partnership Officer

 

Missing Children Europe is looking to recruit a dynamic and creative (Junior) Fundraising and Partnership Officer to strengthen, support and sustain the fundraising capacity of Missing Children Europe.

 

Missing Children Europe is the European Federation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children, representing 30 NGOs of 27 European countries active in combatting the disappearance and sexual exploitation of children. We provide the link between research, policies and organisations on the ground, to protect children from any kind of violence, abuse or neglect that is caused by, or results from them going missing.

Tasks:

 

The (Junior) Fundraising & Partnership Officer will support the Secretary General in strengthening, supporting and sustaining the partnership and fundraising capacity of Missing Children Europe, including at least following actions:

  • Contributing to implementation and continuous development of MCE’s global fundraising strategy, matching the needs of the organisation and in line with the organisational and communications strategy set out by the Board of Directors
  • Researching new avenues for support (including high net worth individuals, corporate partnerships, foundations, grants, crowdfunding,…) and implementing related fundraising initiatives, to complement the existing efforts
  • Strengthening existing fundraising efforts, i.a. by a) supporting, assisting and empowering the volunteers of Missing Children Europe in organising ad hoc fundraising events; b) supporting the members of the Secretariat in applying for funds under different funding programmes of the European Commission;
  • Supporting the Secretary General and volunteers in strengthening the partnership between Missing Children Europe and its key donors and supporters;
  • Supporting the team in the day to day business of the organisation, including through external representation when needed

Profile, skills and background:

 

Essential:

  • 2-3 years professional experience, ideally in the field of fundraising, alternatively in the field of marketing, sales or related
  • Understanding of different fundraising avenues, including high net worth individuals, corporate partnerships, digital fundraising, events, grants,…
  • Capacity to listen, build trust, understand needs of potential partners and translate them into actionable proposals
  • Educational background in a relevant field including sales, marketing or related
  • Commitment to the cause of child protection
  • Creative, fresh and dynamic personality, with the potential to create a maximum impact with limited financial resources
  • Excellent command of English and French, including ability to communicate effectively in writing
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Resilience, patience and ability to work with people from different professional and cultural backgrounds;
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently as well as stress resistant;
  • Excellent organisational skills, meticulous and discreet;
  • Excellent IT skills

 

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the NGO sector / EU umbrella organisations
  • Experience in applying for funds with the European Commission
  • Ideally: a good network of contacts of potential partners interested in supporting the cause of missing children

Organisation:

  • An exciting job in a small but dynamic organisation dealing with problems related to the disappearance and sexual exploitation of children at European level.
  • The (Junior) Fundraising & Partnership Officer would be recruited part time (minimum 2,5 days, maximum 4 days/week) for one year (renewable) starting February 2019. 

Remuneration:

  • Title and remuneration will depend on the candidate’s experience and qualification, following the remuneration scheme of Missing Children Europe, and will include 13th month, holiday scheme, contribution to local transport costs and lunch vouchers.
